IMPACT FINANCIALS VOLUNTEERS LEADERSHIP SUPPORT US SUPPORT USYMCA OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE 2021 ANNUAL REPORT Liz Wilson 2020-2021 Association Board Chair Dan Dummermuth President & CEO LETTER FROM LEADERSHIP Dear Friends, If 2020 was the year of pivoting in a pandemic, 2021 was the year of perseverance in a pandemic. As the COVID-19 crisis lingered into 2021, our YMCA continued to meet critical needs in the communities we serve, ultimately reaching 171,485 individuals. As schools resumed in-person or hybrid learning, our School Age Services, Youth Development and Camp staff worked to help thousands of students return to some sense of normalcy and catch up academically after months of virtual learning. And to help families meet basic needs and ensure kids in our community were ready to learn, we served over 356,000 meals and snacks during our out-of-school-time programming. As people of all ages emerged from isolation and social distancing, our family wellness centers welcomed them back, all while working to maintain social distancing and deliver much-needed programs in a safe environment. As medically vulnerable populations continued to take extra precautions, outreach programs like After Breast Cancer, Full Circle, Small Groups and others offered additional virtual opportunities. And when the time came, we said our see you later” at a bittersweet CEO retirement reception. So while 2021 lived up to 2020’s precedent for constant change, our YMCA kept going. We persevered, just like we have since 1875, and we pressed on toward a vibrant future with the launch of significant reinvestments in our Brentwood and Downtown YMCAs to ensure they’re positioned to meet the needs of future generations. To the volunteers, staff, donors and friends who continued to support and strengthen us, we say a heartfelt thank you.
